TRADE:

In 2023 Ireland exported approximately 966  tonnes of Pigmeat valued at €3.21 m.

In 2022 Ireland exported approximately 656 tonnes of Pigmeat valued at €1.79 m.

In 2021 Ireland exported approximately 1,011 tonnes of Pigmeat valued at €2.6 m.

In 2020 Ireland exported approximately 1,288 tonnes of Pigmeat valued at €4.08 m.

In 2019 Ireland exported approximately 668 tonnes of Pigmeat valued at €1.73 m.

In 2018 Ireland exported approximately 734 tonnes of Pigmeat valued at €1.72 m.

 

PRODUCTS EXPORTED: Fresh or chilled Pigmeat and frozen Pigmeat.

  • If the pigmeat/ pigmeat product does not comply with one of the conditions outlined at Part II.2.3 a), b), c), or d) of the revised health certificate, it must be further processed in an approved transitional facility on arrival in New Zealand before it can be released for sale.

In 2020 Ireland exported approximately 11 tonnes of beef valued at €0.03 m.

EXPORTER T&C’S:

  • The animal must be born and continuously raised in EU member states.
  • The animal must be slaughtered in the European Union, and which have been produced in full compliance with European Parliament and Council Regulations (EC) No. 999/2001 and (EC) No. 1069/2009 as applicable.
  • The animal product must be eligible for intra-community trade without restriction.
  • No age restriction
  • All DAFM-approved slaughter, cutting and processing ovine establishments which are supervised by an official veterinarian of the Department are eligible to produce sheep meat or goatmeat for export to New Zealand.
