TRADE:

In 2022 Ireland exported approximately 640 tonnes of Pigmeat valued at €1.73 m.

In 2021 Ireland exported approximately 983 tonnes of Pigmeat valued at €2.28 m.

In 2020 Ireland exported approximately 1,854 tonnes of Pigmeat valued at €2.59 m.

In 2019 Ireland exported approximately 1,137 tonnes of Pigmeat valued at €2.30 m.

In 2018 Ireland exported approximately 1,296 tonnes of Pigmeat valued at €2.54 m.

 

PRODUCTS EXPORTED: Mainly frozen Pigmeat and frozen pig offal.

CERTIFICATION ARRANGEMENTS: 

Exports can take place on

EITHER

  1. An EU/HK agreed health certificate for chilled/frozen pork/offal and certain fats under CN (HS) Codes 02.03, 02.06, 02.09, 05.04, 05.06, 15.01.

EXPORTER T&C’S:

  • Exports can take place from slaughter cutting plants and cold stores approved by DAFM for handling Pigmeat.
  • Origin - Pigs must have been born and reared in Ireland or legally imported from another Member State and must have been slaughtered in Ireland.
  • From 1 January 2022, products covered  by  this  EU certificate,  for  export from  eligible EU  MS  to  Hong  Kong,  must  be  certified  using  the new  format  of  the  certificate as generated on the TRACES system.

OR

  1. An EU/HK agreed Health Declaration for chilled/frozen pork/offal and certain fats under CN (HS) Codes 02.03, 02.06, 02.09, 05.04, 05.06, 15.01. 
  • EXPORTER T&C’S:

  • Origin - Pigs must have been born and reared in Ireland or another Member State and must have been slaughtered in another Member State eligible to export that product to Hong Kong.
  • From 1 January 2022, products covered  by  this  EU declaration,  for  export from  eligible EU  MS  to  Hong  Kong,  must  be  certified  using  the new  format  of  the  declaration as generated on the TRACES system.

  1. A bilateral certificate for raw preserved meat preparations and raw preserved meat products.

 

  • The raw preserved meat preparations/raw preserved meat products must be derived from animals originating in Ireland or which have been imported into Ireland in accordance with the provisions of European community legislation.
  • All operations must have taken place at establishments approved by DAFM for those particular operations for the relevant species.
  • Any raw meat preparations/ raw meat products exported on this certificate must have been subjected to a preservation treatment.

TRADE:

In 2022 Ireland exported approximately 4,386 tonnes of beef valued at €14.07 m

In 2021 Ireland exported approximately 14,494 tonnes of beef valued at €43.62 m.

In 2020 Ireland exported approximately 16,575 tonnes of beef valued at €43.02 m.

In 2019 Ireland exported approximately 17,343 tonnes of beef valued at €5.62 m.

In 2018 Ireland exported approximately 19,289 tonnes of beef valued at €62.18 m.

PRODUCTS EXPORTED: Mainly frozen bovine offal.

In 2020 Ireland exported approximately 709 tonnes of Poultrymeat valued at €1.47m

In 2019 Ireland exported approximately 726 tonnes of Poultrymeat valued at €1.39 m

In 2018 Ireland exported approximately 448 tonnes of Poultrymeat valued at €1.02 m

 

PRODUCTS EXPORTED: Exclusively frozen poultry cuts and offal.

CERTIFICATION ARRANGEMENTS: 

  1. The bilaterally agreed certificate is for chilled/ frozen Poultry meat. 

EXPORTER T&C’S: 

  • The poultry must be slaughtered, and the meat prepared and stored in an establishment approved by DAFM to handle poultry meat.
  • The poultry must derive from registered farms. That meet specific HPAI and Newcastle Disease free conditions.

OR

  1. A bilateral certificate for raw preserved meat preparations and raw preserved meat products.

 

  • The raw preserved meat preparations/raw preserved meat products must be derived from animals originating in Ireland or which have been imported into Ireland in accordance with the provisions of European community legislation.

In 2019 Ireland exported approximately 1,632 tonnes of Sheepmeat valued at €3.55 m

In 2018 Ireland exported approximately 1,200 tonnes of Sheepmeat valued at €3.06 m
